Business Development Manager

Position in Organisation:
Reports directly to the Director and forms part of the senior management structure responsible for business growth and operational development.
 
Normal Hours:
40 hours per week
 
Salary Range:
£38,000 – £50,000 per annum (depending on experience and responsibilities)
 
Main Duties
  • Develop and implement business growth strategies to increase market share across Hampshire, Berkshire, and surrounding areas.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities, including residential sales, lettings, property management, and strategic partnerships.
  • Build and maintain relationships with property developers, landlords, investors, and commercial partners.
  • Analyse local market trends, competitor activity, and business performance data to identify opportunities for expansion.
  • Lead recruitment planning, onboarding, and performance management processes as the employed workforce expands.
  • Develop operational systems, procedures, and service standards to support business growth and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage and support regional property professionals to ensure consistent service delivery and achievement of business objectives.
  • Monitor sales performance, conversion rates, pipeline activity, and key business metrics.
  • Prepare business forecasts, budgets, and growth plans for review by the Director.
  • Work closely with external professional advisers, including accountants, compliance specialists, and marketing providers.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, industry regulations, and company policies.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications Required
Essential:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in business development, sales management, estate agency management, property services, or a related commercial environment.
  • Proven ability to develop new business opportunities and manage client relationships.
  • Experience managing teams, contractors, or operational functions. 
  • Strong commercial awareness and financial understanding. 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills. 
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and business reporting tools. 
Desirable:
  • Experience within the UK property, estate agency, lettings, or property management sector.
  • Relevant business, management, sales, or property-related qualification. 
  • Experience supporting organisational growth and operational scaling.
